The main objectives of this scheme are given below:
Vocational courses provide education in specific trades, equipping individuals with the necessary skills for a particular profession. Bachelor of Vocational (B.Voc.) is a comprehensive degree program approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and recognized by universities in India and overseas. With a B.Voc. degree in a specialized skill set, one can apply for a specific skill-based visa for foreign immigration, rather than a general work permit. Additionally, a B.Voc. degree offers the same privileges as other bachelor's degrees (BA, B.Com, B.Sc., or B.E.) such as the ability to pursue post-graduation, take UPSC, Bank, Railways exams, etc. The B.Voc. program emphasizes 60% on skill development and 40% on theoretical knowledge, preparing students for the job market or entrepreneurship. The course curriculum is designed to offer job opportunities at the end of each year, empowering students to acquire all the skills necessary for their respective domains.
